What is frosting on soy candles?
Share
Have you ever noticed white discoloring on the tops of and inside of glass jar soy candles? That’s called frosting. Well, I can tell you it drives the makers of soy candles crazy!! That includes John. He spends a lot of time researching how to avoid it, working on processes to stop it and fixing candles to get rid of it. Frosting is a natural by-product of soy which is a natural wax. It is tiny crystals which form on the top and sides of the wax. The white on chocolate is basically the same thing. That being said, it is only cosmetic and doesn’t affect the burnability, the fragrance or the purity of the the candle itself. It can also be a help to you, when and if you see it, to know that your candle is natural soy.
